Experience

María Antonieta has a wide experience in Industrial Property matters; having served for over 10 years as a patent examiner in the chemical area in the Industrial Property Department, now the National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI), where she also worked as Patent Alternate Conservator and technical support of the patent examiners.

In addition, during those years she attended specialization courses in the European Patent Office (EPO) on subjects such as “Interregional Introductory Seminar on Industrial Property”, “Seminar on Patents, a Source of Information; Introduction to Industrial Property”, “Search and examination in Chemistry with focus on Pharmaceuticals” and “Administrative issues and related information systems in the patent granting procedure”; as well as online courses given by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the CEDDET Foundation; “Patent Management and Examination”, “Novelty appreciation and inventive step in Patent Examination” and “The PCT System”.

In the academic area, Maria Antonieta worked as Part-Time Academic in the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Chile from 1984 until 2004.

Maria Antonieta currently works as an independent advisor in the patent area.
