Matías Edwards is a member of our firm’s Public Law and Regulated Markets Group.

His practice focuses on antitrust, economic regulation, regulatory and intellectual property litigation, compliance, and protection of personal data. During his career, he has participated in well known cases related to markets such as retail, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and energy.

He advises clients from all industries on preventive and compliance matters, merger operations, investigations before the FNE regarding unilateral and coordinated conduct, as well as contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Antitrust Court and the Supreme Court.

Throughout his career, he has participated in iconic investigations and litigation in the field of antitrust in Chile. In particular, from the FNE he led the first hub-and-spoke collusion lawsuit against the main supermarket chains in the country, and the first case of abuse of dominance based on the strategic use of pharmaceutical patents in relation to the active principle Celecoxib. Similarly, he co-led the prosecution of the first case of collusion in public bids for saline solution between laboratories.
