The National Cybersecurity Agency launched a public consultation on Operators of Vital Importance, available between September 16 and October 16.
Chile’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCI) has published Exempt Resolution No. 50, approving the preliminary list of Operators of Vital Importance (OIV) in the context of the first qualification process established by Law No. 21,663, known as the Cybersecurity Framework Law.
The qualification process covers state administration agencies, public companies, state-owned companies, and private companies that provide essential services in sectors such as:
- Electricity generation, transmission, or distribution: 307 organizations.
- Telecommunications: 52 institutions.
- Digital infrastructure; digital services and information technology services managed by third parties: 748 companies.
- Banking, financial services, and means of payment: 111 institutions.
- Institutional health care provision by entities such as hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, and medical centers: 326 providers.
- Public companies created by law: 21 companies.
- State Administration agencies: 147.
The purpose of this resolution is to initiate a public consultation process, allowing public and private institutions included in the preliminary list to submit comments and provide any background information and documents they deem relevant, either to object to their prequalification or to request that they be qualified.
The consultation will be available from September 16 for a period of 30 calendar days through the ANCI’s official website. During this period, preliminarily qualified entities must submit their comments in writing, with the corresponding grounds and in relation to the qualification process as Operators of Vital Importance.
