Albagli Zaliasnik led the successful second edition of the Compliance Latam 2025 Forum in Chile

Dec 3, 2025

For the second consecutive year, the Compliance Latam platform brought together industry leaders, regulatory experts, and professionals involved in business ethics.

Compliance Latam, the first platform dedicated to the regulatory compliance ecosystem in Latin America, held the “Compliance Latam Forum” for the second consecutive year.

In this edition, held for the first time in Chile, Albagli Zaliasnik (az) assumed the role of lead firm and coordinator of the event, consolidating our position as a benchmark in compliance, business ethics, and risk management in the region.

The meeting was held on November 27 at The Ritz-Carlton Santiago Hotel and attracted more than 250 attendees, bringing together legal managers, compliance officers, and executives from various sectors with the aim of analyzing and discussing the main challenges and regulatory trends.

Our partner Rodrigo Albagli explained that this event “provided a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in compliance at the international level. Without a doubt, this meeting became one of the major milestones for the legal industry in 2025.”

The discussion panels during the forum were as follows:

Rule change? How compliance adapts without losing its way

The first panel analyzed how compliance faces new legal and geopolitical demands, from the shift in regulatory focus in the US to anti-corruption and anti-money laundering reforms in Latin America. Experts reviewed frameworks for action, internal compliance structures, and legal risk management tools in an era of regulatory uncertainty.

The first panel was moderated by:

  • Oscar Tutasaura, partner, Posse Herrera Ruiz.
  • Gerson Vaca, partner, Basham, Ringe y Correa.

The panelists were:

  • Angie Armer, Corporate Compliance Officer Latin America at Kuehne+Nagel.
  • Juan José Ardiles, Corporate Manager at Farmex (Peru).
  • Anna Tarasevich, Principal Compliance Portfolio & Exploration.
  • Carlos Villagrán, Corporate Risk and Compliance Manager.

Between what is right and what is convenient: a behavioral perspective

What leads a person to act ethically in contexts of pressure, ambiguity, or economic incentive? During the second panel, compliance was addressed from the perspective of behavioral psychology and neuroscience, exploring how ethical decisions do not always respond to rational norms, but rather to biases, habits, and group dynamics.

The second panel was moderated by:

  • Juan Carlos Lombardía, partner, Bartolome & Briones.
  • Alejandro Rojas, partner, BLP.

The panelists were:

  • Tina Rosenfeld, Chair of the Board of Directors of Camanchaca.
  • Karen Thal, Chair of the Board of Directors of Cadem.
  • Alejandro Ferreiro, Chair of the Board of Directors of Chile Transparente and Director of various companies (Essbio, Esval, Banco Internacional, Cía de Seguros Confuturo, Invexans, Guacolda Energy, and NTT Data Inc.).
  • Xavier Genot, specialist in health behavior studies.

New dimensions of risk in the digital economy

The digital economy has brought a new generation of risks that challenge traditional models of compliance and corporate management, but how should organizations prepare to protect their reputation, data, and operational sustainability? Experts discussed data protection and information security in the face of cybercrime, cyberattacks, and ethical breaches in the use of AI.

The third panel was moderated by:

  • Carla Arellano, advisor, Ferrere.
  • Gustavo Papeschi, partner, Beccar Varela.

The panelists were:

  • Sebastián Palacios, Senior Corporate Counsel at Microsoft (Chile and Argentina).
  • Rafael Matiz, Head of Data Risk Latam at AON Risk Services (Colombia).
  • Lautaro Rodríguez, CEO of Lemontech.
  • Luz María García, General Manager of ACTI.

In addition to the above, the Compliance Latam Forum also featured a Ted Talk:

  • “Gen AI: Reinvention of what?” by Nicolas Goldstein, current CEO of Accenture Chile and head of operations in Argentina, Colombia, and Costa Rica.

The Compliance Latam Forum was an excellent opportunity to promote a culture of corporate ethics and raise awareness among companies about new and complex legal and regulatory frameworks on issues such as economic crimes, personal data, and cybersecurity, among other high-impact topics.
