Albagli Zaliasnik (AZ) was recognized by the prestigious publication Chambers and Partners during the Diversity & Inclusion award ceremony, an event held to highlight the pro bono work carried out by Latin American law firms during the 2019-2020 period.
Our firm was awarded in the category “Outstanding Firm Latin America” for the case that allowed the first inscription and legal recognition of homoparental family in Chile.
The ruling set a precedent in Chile. The couple adopted two children abroad, when they arrived in Chile their legal process was represented by AZ’s senior associate, Daniela Hirsch.
“I am proud to work with a team of lawyers committed to non-discrimination. Chambers’ nomination motivates us to continue on this path and show that things can be done right,” Hirsch emphasized.
It is important to highlight the participation of lawyers Daniel López, Ariela Agosin, Dafne Guerra and Gonzalo Bravo, who also worked on this case for five years to recognize them both as the legal parents of their children.
Stephanie Cruz, Coordinator of the Pro Bono area of AZ, explained that this recognition is part of the values and principles that the firm seeks to promote in favor of diversity, while providing access to justice for groups or sectors in vulnerability.
