Cristián Oppliger

Cristián Oppliger is Of Counsel at our firm.

Cristián Oppliger specializes in fintech regulation, personal data protection, and regulatory compliance. He advises payment platforms and digital financial services providers on regulatory, contractual, and corporate governance matters.

With more than a decade of experience, Cristián has built his practice at the intersection of technology, compliance, financial services, and data protection.

He served as Legal Lead for Regulation and Compliance at Global66, where he was responsible for the group’s legal strategy, compliance, and corporate affairs in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

As Head of Legal at Fintoc, he participated in the Series A funding round and served as corporate counsel in Chile and Mexico, as well as Compliance Officer, with responsibility for audits and ISO 27001 certification.

At both companies, he proposed new initiatives, both regarding the business model and the relationship with the CMF.

Previously, at Falabella, he held an operational role coordinating between the technology and legal departments, advising the group’s companies on fintech, personal data, and cybersecurity matters, and served as General Counsel for Linio Chile. He also worked at Gtd and Banco Santander Chile.

He is also a professor in the certificate programs on Personal Data Protection and Law and Artificial Intelligence at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he served as academic coordinator for the certificate program on Fintech Contracting and Regulation, as well as in the certificate program on Regulation and Technology at the Universidad del Desarrollo.
