Our Compliance Group Director, Yoab Bitran, spoke at the panel on supply chain and criminal offenses.
Our Criminal and Compliance teams participated in the event “27th Annual Transnational Crime Conference”, organized by the International Bar Association (IBA), which took place between May 14 and 16 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Santiago.
Our partners Rodrigo Albagli and Gabriel Zaliasnik, together with our Compliance Group Director, Yoab Bitran, and Criminal Group Director, Loreto Hoyos, attended the event.
The event addressed current issues of economic criminal law, such as corruption in sports, crimes in the supply chain, corporate criminal liability in companies, risks for lawyers in investigations and encrypted messaging.
During the event, Yoab was one of the speakers in the panel “Supply chain and criminal offences”.
In the presentation, our director addressed topics such as:
- Advances in Chile in ESG regulations.
- The implications of the Economic Crimes Law.
- The bill that punishes “Greenwashing”.
- The regulatory framework that punishes crimes in the supply chain of companies.
- The path towards “enforcement” and the relevance that Europe may have on Latin American companies.
In addition, during the three days of the conference there were networking spaces and opportunities to exchange experiences and best practices in the field with a focus on international cooperation.
Likewise, on the occasion of the IBA, az successfully held meetings with leading international firms, where we shared ideas, trends and legal challenges, in a valuable space for global cooperation and strengthening of best practices.
