Security crisis

Sep 23, 2025

We invite you to read the letter to the editor from our senior associate at az Tech, Antonia Nudman, on the urgent need to use technology as a tool to combat the security crisis.

Dear Editor:

The security crisis facing the country cannot be delayed. The growth of organized crime and the sense of vulnerability among citizens demand immediate and effective responses. In this scenario, technology cannot be seen as a luxury, but as an essential tool for dealing with increasingly sophisticated threats.

In a world where criminal organizations use artificial intelligence, encrypted communications, and global networks, it is unacceptable for the State and its institutions to lag behind technologically. Public security must have modern platforms for data analysis, system interoperability, and early detection mechanisms that allow risks to be anticipated rather than simply reacted to.

Beyond political circumstances, this is a structural necessity: ensuring that technology is at the service of citizen security in a serious, transparent, and respectful manner of fundamental rights. Only in this way can we prevent criminal structures from advancing faster than our institutions.
