The event addressed the use of AI in intellectual property, innovation, E-Commerce and the Economic Crimes Law.

The Chilean Association of Intellectual Property (ACHIPI) held its XVI Conference last Thursday, September 26 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santiago.

Az was represented by our IP, Tech and Data group formed by our partner Eugenio Gormáz, senior associates Antonia Nudman and Carlos Lazcano and our associates Fernanda Rodríguez and Esteban Orhanovic.

During the day there were 4 thematic panels on:

  • Impact of AI on intellectual and industrial property in different economic sectors: Advances and challenges in the registration and management of trademarks.
  • AI: Catalyst for innovation and challenges in the intellectual property of the future.
  • E-Commerce, AI and the new Economic Crimes Law in the fight against piracy: Roles of PDI, BRIDEPI and Customs.
  • Ethical and technological challenges in the digital era

The event provided a space to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that AI represents, addressing both its ethical implications and its practical application in national regulation. This fostered a great exchange of ideas among attendees, who discussed high-impact topics in the context of the digital era.
