Albagli Zaliasnik is strengthening its Criminal and Civil Litigation practices by appointing new partners

May 22, 2026

Loreto Hoyos and Francisco Fuentes have joined as new partners at az, strengthening our Criminal and Civil Litigation and Arbitration practices, respectively.

Reflecting the law firm Albagli Zaliasnik (AZ)’s commitment to developing internal talent and consolidating strategic practices for its clients in a context of growing regulatory and judicial complexity, the firm decided to strengthen its Criminal and Civil Litigation-Arbitration practices, respectively, by appointing new partners.

The new partners are Loreto Hoyos and Francisco Fuentes, both attorneys at the firm. With these appointments, az will continue to enhance its value proposition and build teams characterized by excellence, client-centricity, and a modern approach to the practice of law.

Loreto Hoyos is a graduate of the University of Chile with a Master’s degree in Criminal Law from the University of Talca. Her practice focuses on medium- and high-complexity criminal litigation, with a special emphasis on economic crimes.

Her career has been solidified through her involvement in various high-profile cases, advising companies and individuals on the design of defense strategies and criminal litigation.

Contributing to az’s growth

The lawyer, who trained alongside az’s founding partner Gabriel Zaliasnik, has served as head of the Criminal Practice Group for several years, and her leadership in highly complex litigation and economic crime cases has helped position the firm as a leader in corporate criminal law.

“I am proud to take on this new role,” she says, pledging that “we will continue to contribute to the growth of az’s Criminal Practice Group, strengthening a specialized, strategic, and results-oriented practice.”

Meanwhile, Francisco Fuentes is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University and holds a specialization in civil liability and insolvency; he has extensive experience advising and representing companies across various sectors, including energy, healthcare, retail, investments, real estate, and sports corporations, in highly complex disputes.

Since joining az in 2017, he has demonstrated the ability to lead complex disputes and design legal and commercial strategies aligned with his clients’ business objectives.

“This appointment represents a significant professional challenge and, at the same time, recognition of the work we have carried out alongside the team over the years,” he commented.
