Chambers and Partners | Albagli Zaliasnik strengthens its legal area with the incorporation of two new Directors

The Chilean full-service law firm, Albagli Zaliasnik (az), boosts its capabilities in the az Tech and Energy and Natural Resources legal areas with the arrival of two new Directors.

They are Gonzalo Navarro and Alejandro Montt, who will form the core of these areas in az’s Santiago office.

The powerful team will take advantage of the synergies between the different legal practices that Albagli Zaliasnik offer to strengthen the existing client portfolio and will continue opening markets, expanding business and generating new opportunities.

Gonzalo Navarro will be in charge of az Tech, and will focus his practice on technology, advising on matters relating to Internet services, telecommunications, intellectual property, software development contracts, technology platforms, data protection and entertainment. With more than 20 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to the evolution of technology and the Internet, moving from leading legal positions in the public and private sectors to international organizations and renowned transnational companies. He has a master’s degree in Telecommunications Law and an LL.M from the prestigious Columbia Law School in New York.

For his part, Alejandro Montt, will be heading the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources area, thanks to his extensive experience advising companies on their projects in Chile, including the development of energy, mining, agribusiness, forestry, and other similar projects.

Alejandro also worked as an attorney in the United States, advising various international clients and participating in cross-border transactions, financings, and project development. Outside of his private practice, he has worked in the public sector as an advisor to the Minister of Mining, participating in the drafting of legislation in various governmental bodies related to the natural resources industry.  He completed his LL.M at Harvard Law School.
